Spicy Tuna Onigiri

An easy and delicious recipe for Spicy Tuna Onigiri, perfect for food lovers and a great introduction to Japanese cuisine.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1 can spicy tuna
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 2 sheets nori
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 green onions
  • to taste salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice until the water runs clear.
  2. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  3. In a bowl, mix the spicy tuna with mayonnaise and sriracha.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, allow it to cool slightly.
  5. Wet your hands and form small balls of rice.
  6. Flatten the rice balls and place some of the spicy tuna mixture in the center.
  7. Wrap the rice around the filling and form a triangle.
  8. Wrap each onigiri with a strip of nori.
  9. Serve with sliced avocado, cucumber, and green onions.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of sriracha.
  • Onigiri can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
