Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 package instant yeast
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the sourdough starter, melted butter, sugar, salt, and cinnamon to the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Once risen, punch the dough down and shape it into small balls.
  8. Roll each ball in the brown sugar and place them in a greased bundt pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips in between layers if desired.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a plate.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add nuts or dried fruit.
  • This bread is best enjoyed warm.
