Ingredients

  • 200 grams almond flour
  • 200 grams powdered sugar
  • 100 grams egg whites
  • 50 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring
  • 250 grams butter
  • 300 grams powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Black edible marker

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine almond flour and powdered sugar, then sift it into another bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Add vanilla extract and food coloring, mixing until combined.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites until fully incorporated.
  6. Pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them dry for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, then let cool completely.
  8. For the filling, beat butter and powdered sugar, then mix in milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Pipe filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich with the other half.
  10. Use the edible marker to draw eyes and buttons on the macarons.

Notes
