  • 2 cups pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix pumpkin puree and sourdough starter.
  2. Add flour, salt, sugar, and spices. Mix until combined.
  3. Slowly add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise for 4-6 hours.
  6. Punch down dough and shape into a loaf.
  7. Place in a greased loaf pan and let rise for another 2 hours.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
