Puerto Rican Pepper Steak

A classic Puerto Rican dish featuring tender beef in a savory pepper sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced steak and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Remove the steak and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the onion, bell peppers, and garlic. Sauté until softened.
  5. Stir in the oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Add the beef broth and soy sauce, returning the steak to the skillet.
  7. Simmer for 20 minutes until the steak is tender.

Notes

  • Serve with rice for a complete meal.
