These buttermilk biscuits are fluffy and perfect for any meal, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flaky biscuits, handle the dough as little as possible.
  • You can substitute milk for buttermilk, but the flavor will be different.
