Ohio Shredded Chicken Sandwiches are an easy and juicy family favorite that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup coleslaw (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix barbecue sauce, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 4 hours.
  5. Shred the chicken with two forks and mix it with the sauce.
  6. Serve on hamburger buns and top with coleslaw if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce overnight before cooking.
  • These sandwiches can also be made in an Instant Pot.
