Mac and Cheese Green Bean Casserole

A delicious twist on traditional green bean casserole featuring creamy mac and cheese and turkey bacon.

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 1 can green beans, drained
  • 1 cup turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
  4. Gradually add milk, stirring until thickened.
  5. Stir in cheese until melted.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine macaroni, green beans, and turkey bacon with the cheese sauce.
  7. Pour into a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the turkey bacon.
  • Add extra cheese on top for a cheesier casserole.
