A quick and easy jambalaya recipe using turkey bacon and chicken ham for a unique twist.

  • 1 pound turkey bacon
  • 1 pound chicken ham
  • 2 cups long-grain rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add chicken ham to the same pot and sauté with the onion and green bell pepper until softened.
  3. Stir in the garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, and thyme, cooking for an additional minute.
  4. Add the rice and stir to coat, then pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
  6. Stir in the reserved turkey bacon and season with salt and black pepper before serving.

Notes

  • For more flavor, consider adding diced tomatoes or shrimp.
