Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg, vanilla extract, and orange food coloring; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and flatten them gently.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
  8. Let cool and then mix powdered sugar with milk to create icing.
  9. Decorate the cookies using black icing to draw Jack-o’-lantern faces.
