1 box chocolate cake mix
3 eggs
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tub chocolate frosting
12 Oreo cookies
24 candy eyes
1 cup pipe cleaner or black licorice (for spider legs)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a cupcake pan with liners.
In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil until smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool.
Once cooled, frost each cupcake with chocolate frosting.
To make spiders, twist pipe cleaners into legs and stick them into the sides of the Oreo cookies. Attach two candy eyes on top of each cookie. Place one cookie spider on each cupcake.
Notes
For a fun twist, use different flavored cake mixes.
