  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto a baking sheet and make a small indentation in the center.
  8. Fill each indentation with a dollop of the cream cheese mixture.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
