Copycat Ruth's Chris Potatoes au Gratin

A delicious twist on a classic dish, these Copycat Ruth’s Chris Potatoes au Gratin are made indulgent with the addition of turkey bacon.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 cup turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.
  4. In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Heat until warm.
  5. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle half of the crumbled turkey bacon, onion, and garlic over the potatoes.
  7. Pour half of the cream mixture over the layers.
  8. Repeat layers with the remaining ingredients.
  9. Top with shredded cheeses.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For a richer taste, use whole milk instead of low-fat milk.
  • Feel free to substitute the cheeses with your favorites.
