Classic Patty Melt

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onions until caramelized.
  3. Form the ground beef into patties, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  4. Assemble the sandwich by placing a patty on a slice of rye bread, top with turkey bacon and Swiss cheese, then add another slice of bread.
  5. Spread butter on the outside of the sandwich and grill until golden brown on both sides.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Serve with pickles on the side for a classic touch.
