Classic Christmas Toffee

Classic Christmas Toffee is a delightful holiday treat that brings joy and indulgence to festive celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add sugar, water, and salt. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil and stop stirring. Cook until it reaches the hard crack stage (about 300°F).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the toffee mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let them melt, then spread the chocolate evenly.
  7. Add chopped nuts if desired, pressing them gently into the chocolate.
  8. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
