  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 tub whipped topping
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until smooth.
  3. Fill the cupcake liners with batter and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Allow cupcakes to cool completely.
  5. Use a fork to poke holes in the tops of the cooled cupcakes.
  6. In another bowl, dissolve the cherry Jell-O in boiling water, then stir in the cold water.
  7. Pour the Jell-O mixture over the poked cupcakes, allowing it to soak in.
  8. Refrigerate the cupcakes for at least 2 hours.
