1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
1 pound breakfast sausage
2 cups milk
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Remove the sausage and set aside.
In the same skillet, whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder with the remaining grease until smooth, then slowly stir in the milk until thickened.
In a greased baking dish, cut the biscuit dough into pieces and layer them on the bottom.
Pour the sausage and gravy mixture over the biscuits, then top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until the biscuits are golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Notes
For an extra kick, add some hot sauce to the gravy.
Can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning.
