  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer.
  4. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin) and pour evenly into prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then remove to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Frost with your desired chocolate frosting.
